Johnson<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the place we call home<br \/>\ncool Carmel rock shelters<br \/>\nwounds of warriors and slaves,<span class=\"text_exposed_hide\">&#8230;<\/span><span class=\"text_exposed_show\"><br \/>\nstaking refuge in nations.<br \/>\nNew homes crafted on ruins<br \/>\ndraped with timeless shock,<br \/>\nas if, in leaving this place<br \/>\nwe forgot pieces of ourselves<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"id_566f22c4169be3512424643\" class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\">\n<p>This is a mortal place<br \/>\na blaze of nature<br \/>\nand vengeful memory<br \/>\nthe scattered crumbs<br \/>\nof homes torn open.<br \/>\nToo easy to fathom<br \/>\nthe normality of life,<br \/>\ntea and politeness;<br \/>\nthe desert heart-beat of days.<br \/>\nDo the dead know borders?<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>Yearning through earth&#8217;s etheric<br \/>\nnature is a refuge to itself.<br \/>\nHere can we sense the<br \/>\nwind-born kiss that moved Elijah?<\/p>\n<p>Yes. We too nursed vengeance,<br \/>\nLike you, sliced good and bad.<br \/>\nLike you, we find ourselves<br \/>\nin this subtle garden<br \/>\nPathetic and human.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s pass over.<br \/>\nTogether, with melting flesh,<br \/>\nCherubin of fear and mind<br \/>\nHoodwinked.<br \/>\nAbsorbing freedom<br \/>\nwhere beasts drink freely,<br \/>\nnewly named;<br \/>\nblossom of almond trees<br \/>\nincarnation of joy;<br \/>\nand man and wife<br \/>\nin seamless unity.<\/p>\n<p>We are thistles, rock and sky,<br \/>\nmoving waters christening sea breeze.<br \/>\nPurified by sun, we are dog<br \/>\nmindlessly charging space.<br \/>\nWe are this hawk<br \/>\nhovered in stillness,<br \/>\na blue core of divinity-<br \/>\nplayground of angels.<\/p>\n<p>It seems so simple now.<br \/>\nNo sacrifice, terror or rage<br \/>\nno big bang of dreadful judgement<br \/>\nno measure of pain<br \/>\nwill rampart Eden&#8217;s gates.<\/p>\n<p>Only soft, invisible longing<br \/>\nto blend with living;<br \/>\nlove finer than changing worlds;<br \/>\nonly peace in sweet ponds<br \/>\ntimelessly waiting<br \/>\nas the word &#8220;other&#8221; lacks momentum<br \/>\nand we welcome ourselves<br \/>\nHome.<\/p>\n<p>Only then, Eden comes to us,<br \/>\nRefuge, sanctuary and bliss.<\/p>\n<p>(This poem was first published in the spiritual anthology <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/0955278619?psc=1&amp;redirect=true&amp;ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Into the Furthest Reaches,<\/em><\/a> edited by Jay Ramsay)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgi Y.
